Our Mission:

The mission of  Biomedical Ethics in Medical Education is to increase awareness about the role of ethics in medicine with the aim
of improving ethical decision making and the quality of medical care for patients.

Our Goals:

BEME will serve as a resource for students and the medical community to discuss pertinent ethical topics relating but not limited to the education and practice of medicine and any aspects of healthcare. This goal will be achieved through educational debate, discussion, and attendance of local/ national conferences, talks, and conventions.

Our Tradition:

BEME annually sponsors the donation of an ethically relevent text to the Harriet F. Ginsburg Health Sciences Library with each members' signature on the front page.  Additional copies are also utilized to facilitate intellectual discussion during meetings throughout the year.

Membership:

Membership is always open. At this time we are not charging dues, however to maintain active member status, students must attend 50% of scheduled events per academic semester. Organized BEME events are open to the public and not limited to BEME members. Non-members, faculty, staff, community partners, and fellow UCF Undergraduate and Graduate students are welcome to attend events. We look forward to seeing you.
